About Us
Hand in Hand Eastern Africa (HiH EA) is registered in Kenya as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). The organization started its operations in 2010 and it boasts 25 operative field offices in 33 counties out of 47 counties in Kenya. HiH EA is a member of the Hand in Hand Global Network that comprises affiliated organizations that mutually pursue the shared goal of poverty alleviation while supporting poorer communities to develop sustainable enterprises and jobs.
The organization strives to work with the marginalized communities in the areas of economic and social empowerment using a participatory approach aimed at supporting people to overcome poverty and vulnerability through development of sustainable enterprises.

Waste Management
By adopting sustainable practices in the use of waste products, ocean resources, through our projects we have ensured that the environment including the ocean
remains healthy and productive, and that communities that depend on it can thrive.
Digitalization
HiHEA digitalization initiatives aim to boost resilience, efficiency and competitiveness of beneficiary enterprises. Programing around digitization leaps to the increased
profitability, and corresponding enterprise income.
Agro ecology and Climate resilience
In mitigating the impact of climate change HiH EA encourages the application of ecological concepts and principals in farming. This promotes farming practices that; Mitigate climate change - reducing emissions, recycling resources and prioritizing local
supply chains.
Value Chain Development
Hand in Hand Eastern Africa has been works towards equipping smallholder farmer with business skills, good agricultural practices, access to credit, facilitate access to markets and other forms of support to enable transition from subsistence agriculture to running profitable agribusiness hence increasing their income to above $2 per day.
Human Rights and Economic Empowerment
We contribute to the reduction of poverty by empowering poor and vulnerable women and girls to access and claim their rights for sustainable change at an individual, community and national level.
Gender and Advocacy
Hand in Hand Eastern Africa (HiHEA) gender and advocacy program has been created to address the growing concern on the need to ensure gender equality and equity issues are well centered and integrated across all its projects.
